Bubble and Geek Review: Geeky scented stuff makes me very happy.

My name is Geek Girl Diva and I have a confession to make.

I am addicted to geeky items of the scented nature. Soap, perfumes, candles, lip balm, you name it. If it smells good and has a geeky theme, I pretty much want to get a hold of it because it makes me happy.

Which is why I was so thrilled when I got this sample pack from Bubble and Geek.

Considering my picture skills are lacking (I mean, did you see the the top image), I'm going to link the stuff I was sent from their website because they have waaaaaaay better photos.

What was in the package:

Sunnydale Library Scented Soy Candle $12

Donna Lip Tint (plum color/Sangria flavor) $5

River's Kiss Roll On Fragrance $7

My review:

First off, let me say, thanks so much to B & G for sending so much. I was very happily suprised upon opening my package.

The Sunnydale Library Scented Soy Candle was, hands down, my favorite. Part of that is just the fact that I'm a candleholic and I tend to have one going whenever possible. The candle is a nice mix of leather (leather bound books) , wood (rosewood for "Mr. Pointy"), and tea (of course). There's also supposed to be a house plant in there somewhere, but I was too busy enjoying the leather and wood so I didn't catch it.

I liked both the Butterbeer and Donna Lip Tints but both presented a small problem -- I kept licking and nibbling my lips. I was that kid that was always tempted to eat grape Bonne Bell in school as a kid, so flavored lip balms and I are at odds. That said, I liked the Donna because I don't wear make up often, but I always wear lip balm, and it was a nice way to get a little color and still feel moisturized. Plus, love the color.

River's Kiss and I, sadly, did not click. Not because the scent isn't pretty. In the bottle it's lovely, but once it hit my skin, it went alllll berries and lost any of the sexiness of musk or incense. That's no fault of the scent. Body chemistry is a funny thing. But if you like floral or foodie scents, I'd say you'd like it.

You can see all of what Bubble and Geek has to offer on their etsy page. As for me, I'm thinking I may need to buy their 221B Scented Soy Candle Jar. Cause it sounds delicious.

This video of the people and protestors of Kiev dancing to "Happy" made me just that

This video was posted February 8th & made before things got totally crazy in Kiev, Ukraine.

I hope they make another one after they gain their independence and I hope they all get to be happy.

Thanks Christoph for the link ;)

Rant/Ponderation re: Supernatural. Why do the writers make Sam look weak?

I was boppin' around on's Supernatural section and the thought happened again and then typing happened.

I've been muddling this over a while and I'm just going to share it and see if anyone else agrees or not.

There's this entire subplot called "Dean always has to step in and 'save' Sam". Whether it's the big things or the small things, when it comes down to it and someone has to be the guy who's incapacitated/about to die and one has to be the guy who comes in and saves 'em, there's really only one way that looks.

Okay, save for Jensen and the doped pudding and, really, it was pudding so you know they had to give it to him.

Look at the last couple of episodes, then look back further and ask yourself what would have happened if the roles were reversed?

Putting in a break cause SPOILERS!

I'm totally gonna get in the shower, turn out the lights and use this...

What? What did you think I meant? ::grin::

I love this soap. Heck, I sort of helped think up this set along with Bubble Genius (who I love) and who you'd love and it's the periodic table and nuclear stuff and it GLOWS IN THE DARK.

Yes, I htink you should buy a set. Because you know someone who wants it.

Plus, then we can all try the showering in the dark thing!

Star Wars Rebels just introduced a kickass female character. Meet Sabine.

I'm now officially stoked for Star Wars Rebels.

We've gotten our first look at Sabine. Sassy, smart, and a Mandalorian? I'm so in.

Update: I got to talking with a couple people about the need/want for a Sabine figure and how awesome a helmet would be. Because, y'know, we like to play with toys.

One of the people speculating along with me was Lucas Siegel, who then turned around and got an exclusive story from Hasbro about the idea!

"350 envelopes filled with heroin found in the apartment" re: Phillip Seymour Hoffman? Gawker, you suck.

I'm not sure whether to be annoyed or impressed with the way this Facebook post by Gawker is set up.

Note the comment that introduces the story. Note the headline.

Is there anything in there that tells you that the 350 envelopes were found in a drug dealer's apartment during an arrest and, oh yeah, they can't necessarily connect the dealer or drugs to Phillip Seymour Hoffman?

I feel dirty that they got me to click.

This is my favorite response to anyone who's mad about the Coke "America The Beautiful" ad

Meet Brenda Wood from 11Alive news in Atlanta. She's awesome. She also said this way better than I could have.

p.s. As a Russian, Jewish, Irish, Cherokee Indian, I approve this message. ;-)

Hasbro Unveils The Transformers First Edition Optimus Prime Action Figure.

I know you saw that commercial for Transformers: Age Of Extinction during the Super Bowl, but I got a nifty little email right after it about the Transformers First Edition Optimus Prime Action Figure from Hasbro exclusively through's Transformers Headquarters shop.

So, what do you think? Good, bad, indifferent?

I think it looks pretty good for the price and what it does, but you tell me.

p.s. If you want to read the entire press release, you can check it out after the break.

Looks like the Winchesters have a new family business ;-)

Hat tip to my friend Jennifer for the pic and this tweet. I even found a purchase link. I may need to get a bottle for Supernatural night so I can drink whenever Sam and Dean drink.
