This NBC Constantine featurette takes you deeper into The Mill House

Let's talk about the Mill House on Constantine. I'm not sure I've talked about it here (I know I've fangirled over mentioned it on Twitter), but I love the Mill House.

The couches are worn in leather, it's got books everywhere, it looks...cozy. All of that would sell me on it's own. But after watching this featurette and having my suspicions confirmed on the nature of the books and some of the artifacts...

Now I need to figure out how to get a visit to the set. Because I really, really, really want to see everything up close.

I also want to give a special shout out to Dave Blass from Blackhawk Design because he's one of the people responsible for the amazing sets on the show. The art department has really knocked it out of the park on this show.

Check out the NBC To Hell and Back featurette on the Mill House after the break.

This 'Shake It Off" parody is my new fave Chanukah song.

I'd like to thank the adorable Jewish boys of Six13 for this wonderful Hanukkah gift. ::grin::

Singing, adorable, Jewish boys FTW. If I weren't otherwise taken, I'd want to date all of them.

Now I'm craving latkes.

Chrismakkuh happiness: The Supernatural Clue game

If you hear a high pitched squee coming from the direction of Los Angeles this morning when I opened up a package containing the new Hot Topic exclusive Supernatural Clue game.

Happy dancing followed and much flailing. Frankly, I'm amazed the pictures I took aren't blurry.

I did take pictures, so you can see what it looks like. They're after the break.

Check Out Sideshow's New Wolfpack Clone Trooper: 104th Battalion Sixth Scale Figure

Sideshow Collectibles has a new addition to their Militaries of Star Wars collection. The new Wolfpack Clone Trooper: 104th Battalion Sixth Scale Figure is inspired by Sergeant Sinker in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and features the Wolfpack's blue-grey decor. It also comes equipped with a standard issue jetpack, a cool back pack, some killer weapons, and interchangeable hands and feet.

I had a chance to unbox one of my own, so I took a few pictures of that so you can see the packaging and see how cool he looks in the light of day. But I'm also including some of Sideshow's photos because, let's be honest, they're better pictures than mine.

Head after the break to check it out.

Toys for Tots Receives $100K Toy Donation from Entertainment Earth

You may not know this but the whole Geek Girl Diva thing was born during my time at Entertainment Earth and EE has a place near and dear to my heart for a number of reasons.

Having read that EE just donated $100,000 worth of toys to Toys for Tots, I need to add another reason to my list ;-)

Please take a moment to read the press release after the break. EE did good and I want to share the love.

Hot Topic turns 25 and they're throwing one heck of an anniversary party, with cool trivia to boot!

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Hot Topic and have been for years, but there are lots of things I didn't know about them.

In celebration of their 25th anniversary, they're doing special promos, they're asking people to post their goth selfies, they're sharing their history in photos, and they released a list of 25 Things You (Probably) Don't Know About Hot Topic. I thought it was a neat bit of trivia, so I share. ;-)

Head after the break to check it out.

There's a #Supernatural Clue game. Shut up and take my money!

There's a Supernatural Clue game. I...oh my gosh. Want, need, must have.

Details and more after the break.

An open letter to Katy Steinmetz of Time on whether we need to ban the word "feminist".

Dear Katy,

Bae, we need to talk about your "Words that should be banned in 2015" article. That thing you wrote for Time makes you some like some basic bitch who's worried about being bossy concerned she might disrupt the natural order of things by admitting that the word feminist is not only a word that's never going to be worn out, but one you should be embracing.

How can you, a woman who's looking to be an empowered voice on the web, suggest that we give that word up?

I can't even...

I have no doubt you'd rather be an influencer in the world and create powerful articles that change people's minds. That you worry that, as a woman, if you're not edgy and unique, you may be relegated to writing silly articles about kale. That you literally worry about using words like "om nom nom" because someone will think you're a "girl" instead of a "woman".

But, here's the thing, Katy. We need that word. Because, and I'm not trying to be obvi here, but when we live in a word where women are not equal, where we're called names just for being women, where we are paid less, treated as less, respected less, just because of our gender, that word matters.

That word pisses people off because it reminds them that it's necessary.

"I'm a woman who's totally okay with being treated like a second class citizen". - said no one ever.

I think you wrote this because you're trying to be cool. But, throwing your gender's equality under the bus to make a point is beyond uncool and makes you look desperate. #sorrynotsorry.

Instead of saying you need to get turnt, I'm going to suggest that maybe you might want to look at this again and consider that you just devalued yourself. You're smarted than that. You're more talented than that.

You're better than that.

Feel me?

Yaaaaasssssss ;-)

p.s. If you speak geek, let me put it this way -- "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means".

Update: I'd like to add a little note for the editor at Time who thought this post was a good idea.

Mark Sheppard got the best texts from Jared, Jensen & Misha about the Supernatural 200th ep. party

Mark Sheppard shares a text thread between Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, and himself regarding the Supernatural 200th Episode party and it's frickin' hilarious.

For those of you who may not know, Mark had to miss the party. It's so nice to know the guys were so...inclusive.

Head after the break to watch it.

Thing I need: Hand painted exploding TARDIS Starry Night ornament.

Not only is it gorgeous, but I'm pretty sure the color scheme works with a Christmas Tree or a Channukah bush ;-)

Wow. Love. Thanks ThinkGeek!

Pike and Trident: the webseries that kicks a lot of ass, in a good way

It's a sad fact of life that when you write for other blogs your own blog gets no love. Well, it's a fact of life for me. And I'd totally beat myself up about it but that would force me to spend time doing stuff than writing!

However, one of the things I came across during my busy schedule gave me a smile and so I'm gonna share.

This is Pike and Trident. It's a webseries starring Patty Jean Robinson and Kim Turney full of adventure and, my favorite part, women swinging weapons. Seriously, these gals don't mess around.

Plus, it's fun and I love the idea that a car mat is an artifact (you'll see).

Check it out after the break.

Well, now I have to see #blackhat. Cause, reasons.

These words were what sold me on seeing Blackhat: "Directed and produced by Michael Mann, the film stars Chris Hemsworth". Plus, it's from Legendary and I'm loving everything Legendary is doing these days.

Do I need anything else? Nope!

You can watch the trailer after the break.

Hot Topic Funko exclusive Supernatural Castiel with WINGS & a Charlie Bradbury. Day = made.

Considering the fact that I lost my ever loving mind when I realized there was a Hot Topic exclusive version the Supernatural Funko Castiel WITH WINGS, I figure I'd share the news.

Now only does such a thing exists, but they're releasing a Charlie Bradbury as well!

The Castiel is sold out for now but here's the link if you want to keep an eye out for it. As for Charlie, I didn't find her in a Hot Topic search for "Charlie", but I'm hoping she'll be listed soon.

I admit. I have no self control and I hit eBay (Charlie search/Cas search)  to find them both. I bought those things so fast, it should be illegal. But my birthday's coming up and I decided it's a present.

I also found Cas on Amazon  here and Charlie here.

My current squee level is 11. My cheeks hurt from smiling. My day is totally made.

James Silvani's Draw-A-Saurus is both funny and functional

One of my favorite things about James Silvani's new book Draw-A-Saurus is that, while it's goal is to teach you how to draw a 'saurus (see how that works?), you can still enjoy it if you're a complete artistic luddite.

I know this because I loved it and I can't even draw a decent cube.

Silvani combines real drawing instruction with adorable and hilarious editorial commentary (the "editor" notes are amazing) which makes this book work as both a teaching manual and source of entertainment.

So, whether you want to know how to draw realistic dinosaur armor or you just want to see an Pterodactyl fishing (with a pole), there's something in here for everyone.

At only $14 bucks, I think it's an amazing deal and it's in stock now over at Amazon.

I took a few pictures, they're handheld, but I snapped some stuff I thought you might like.

You can see them after the break.

I have a new favorite German commercial.

Someone over at the Heimat Berlin ad agency in Germany totally gets what it means to be "other" and what some of us might wish for.

They also managed to have a sense of humor and get you right in the feels at the same time.

The best part? It's a home improvement store commercial called Hornbach.

This Female Thor thing was a thing waayyyy before you even realized.

My friend Adam Frazier posted this picture on his FB with a note about the new female Thor news.

"Marvel Comics announced a huge change to one of its iconic heroes, Thor, on Tuesday's episode of "The View." The hammer-wielding god of thunder will now be a woman in the comic series. You know who's SUPER-EXCITED about this news!? This girl...

And, because I had to, I went looking to see if I could find this helmet on Amazon. No luck, but I found some awesome stuff.

My thoughts on the reaction to the merger at The Mary Sue [rant/ponderation]

The editors over at The Mary Sue wrote up a post addressing some concerns readers have had about some of the recent changes to the site up to and including a recent merger. It's long, it's thoughtful and it's getting a LOT of comments.

I'd like to share my thoughts on that post and the reaction, but I do feel it's important to share this tweet so you know my take general take on this situation.

Okay, so, there's that part. The rest, well, I wanted to address certain comments and concerns and -- since I have my own blog and it's way easier than commenting to a bunch of posts on their site, I'm gonna do it here.

After the break. ::grin:: Cause I'm likely to be long winded.

My new fave Frozen parody: Will you help me hide a body. LOVE.

It must be video week but if you know me and my love for all things murder/death, you'll know why I love this Frozen parody.

Oh and, listen all the way to the end. Trust me ;-)

The SyFy Channel is living up to its name.

There's been a lot of talk in the past (and, let's be honest, complaint, grumbling and general unhappiness) about the lack of science fiction on SyFy.

I was thinking about this the other day when I went from Orphan Black to Lost Girl in my catching up on shows.

There's a lot of sci fi, fantasy and horror coming out of SyFy these days. Original content to boot.

Their new trailer puts a pretty good point on it.

Nicely done, SyFy.

Speaking of new programming, I'm recapping The Wil Wheaton Project for Entertainment Weekly. Just an FYI.

I got to unbox the Hot Toys Iron Patriot Sixth Scale Figure from Sideshow and, man, is it pretty.

Amazingly, the folks at Sideshow Collectibles seem to be amused by my completely home made unboxing posts and my amateur photography, because they sent me another bit of shiny and, in the case of the Hot Toys Iron Patriot Sixth Scale Figure, shiny is definitely the word.

The Iron Patriot is part of their Diecast Movie Masterpiece Series, it lights up and it's insanely detailed. Armor plates flip up and/or out. It's crazy articulated and it's heavy!

It also comes with all sorts of cool accessories.

The GeekBoy helped me out on this one. We seem to have found a system where he handles the figure and I take the pictures (that sounds way more dirty than intended) because he's less clumsy than I am. Honestly, these figures are so cool that I worry I'm going to break something when I try to pop off the head or pose them. Not because they're delicate, but because I'm....accident prone.

So, I took the pictures (hush, we're not going to discuss my skills or the fact that I leave stuff in the background) and I'm posting them after the break with a few comments.

But here's the main review - This figure kicks ass. Period. It's pretty, it's shiny and it's 100% worth the money. It really is a masterpiece in every sense of the word.

If you have a love for Iron Patriot and you can afford it, I'd say get it for sure. If only to be able to put it together and light it up and then just sit in the dark and stare at it in a totally non creepy way.

Picture time!

I'm in love with Whiskey Barrel Coffee. It's kind of amazing.

I discovered Whiskey Barrel Coffee through my job writing for That's Nerdalicious and, once I discovered it, I was in love. I mean, I love whiskey, I love coffee - so it's kind of a no brainer for me. I even tweeted Espresso Smith (the makes of this ambrosia) after I wrote about them to tell them how much I loved the idea and talked them up online because I thought it sounded amazing.

However, as much as I wanted to try it, it was one of those things I backburnered for myself because, let's be honest, the life of a freelancer can be a bit shaky financially and it's more of a luxury than I could do for myself.

Then, on May 22nd, I got this tweet.

First of all, I don't know how they knew I was having one of those days, but the timing was perfect. I, of course, was thrilled and accepted.

Which is how I ended up with my very own dark roast blend and a very cool t-shirt. Not to mention, the packaging (Skulls. You know I love skulls) These guys are doing it right.

I haven't cracked it open yet. (No grinder and I kind of LOVE the wax seal) but I I have a plan on when I'll be opening it and I plan to share with friends. Because a gift from someone to make your day should be shared with others to make theirs.

If you love whiskey and you love coffee and you want to buy from good people who make quality products, then I can't recommend Whiskey Barrel Coffee any more highly. I promise to report back once I've partaken.

I've put some pictures after the break. Check them out. I'm so impressed. Really. Thanks again, Espresso Smith. You made a fan for life.

This guy made my new fave video ever while overnight at McCarran Airport.

I admit, I didn't look at this right away because I was being cynical and feeling like "Oh goodie, another guy in the airport, making a video, yay."

But I watched this morning and I can't even tell you how much I loved it.

Richard Dunn, you are my hero. If Celine Dion doesn't ask to use this in her Vegas show, there's no justice in the world.

This is why I'm stoked for Luc Besson's "Lucy" starring Scarlett Johanssen

I've been a fan of Luc Besson since The Professional. I love The Fifth Element and I'm even a huge fan of Lockout.

So when I saw the trailer for Lucy and realized I was gonna get Luc Besson and Scarlett Johanssen in a kickass movie, I pretty much clapped for joy.

Which is why I'm sharing the trailer and some pics from the movie after the break.

I got to check out Sideshow's Wolverine Sixth Scale Figure. I have thoughts.

A little while ago, Sideshow Collectibles sent me their DC Comics Catwoman and I pretty much lost my mind with happy.

I also did my first action figure unboxing and had a delightful time taking bad pictures and squeeing over details. But, as cheesy as I thought I was, the folks at Sideshow seemed to like it because they sent me something else.

Their Wolverine Sixth Scale Figure from The Wolverine.

I'm going to admit that I squeed. I promptly undressed him. I put him in fun poses. We (The GeekBoy and I because I need help with some of this stuff) laughed a lot when we took off his head to take off his tie and his head went rolling. (We're so pro). And I took some (shaky/blurry/sometimes okay) pictures.

But here's the main thing, bad photography aside. This figure blew my mind. The details are just unreal.

In my effort to get him down to his iconic undershirt and pants...

...we had to take off his overcoat, his suit jacket, his tie, and a black shirt -- all of which had the teeniest buttons. Details like having to take his head off and then flip up his collar to get a tie off are just...awesome. Hilarious at my house, but I can't tell you how many times I just sat there...staring at how intricate this was.

In the end, we got him posed up and got the adamatium claws on him (Oh yeah, he comes with, like, a gazillion hands: fists, relaxed, bone claws, adamantium claws)

and posed him on the mantel. He's chillin' there pretty happily.

I think my favorite picture is the one where the sunlight is reflecting off his claws.

If you want to see awesome pictures and, more importantly, get yourself this epic figure, you can get him now from Sideshow for $224.99, which I think is an amazing price for this level of craftsmanship.

Enjoy my hilariously bad photography after the break.

The trailer for Galavant has made me very happy.

I know I've already proven I love musicals, but I just realized that my love for Timothy Omunson hasn't been put on the blog record, so me doing a happy dance over Galavant may need a little explaining.

Omundson has become one of those actors firmly in the crushworthy but not fan stalker-y column. He's voiced one of my fave companions in SWTOR (Trooper Aric Jorgan), he recently put a spin on Cain in Supernatural in which he kicked all sorts of ass and sported a killer beard and now...

He sings.

To top it off, he seems like a really nice guy and interacts with his fans on Twitter like a normal person.
